Of all the new kit car projects I’ve posted, I think this is the one I’m most excited about, a replica of the stunning AMX/3 prototype. The AMX/3 was debuted by Bizarrini and AMC in 1970, but was dropped as a project due to the similar and competing Ford Pantera. Tom Dulaney at AMX390.com managed to get his hands on the original rolling fiberglass prototype and has taken molds off of it with the intent of putting this vehicle that’s a beautiful mix of muscle car and Italian supercar back into production. Visit his site for updates and to get yourself on the waiting list — here are a few shots from early in the construction of the first chassis (the first picture is of one of the originals).
wow… this is pretty interesting. I always thought the AMX/3 was one of the most underappeciated of the “wedge” cars, and its rarity makes it so much more appealing. Thanks for including this!

I have never seen a worse frame for a kit car. So heavy and over designed. It kills any chance at performance.
Yo be fair it looks like a mock up going on.
please send me info, details, more photos of replicas and directions of fabricators of this models… please, send to:morales, ruben e, pirovano 4280-barranqueras -chaco-argentina-codigo postal:3503/5-E-mail:mmdesign@argentina.com.ar-…Thanks you very much.
Best of luck on your venture. Most people do not appreciate the effort, sacrifice and work that goes into these things.
