Bradley GT2 Project Car Build Update 8 is not a very big update. To be completely honest I just have not felt like working on the car much the past week or so. Pretty much due to some lack of motivation and some just busy doing other things.
Bradley GT2 Project Car Build Update 8
Well besides making the car go, the car has to stop…right? So this update is all about the brakes. I knew going in that I would be replacing all the brake lines and master at the minimum, and the entire braking system at the maximum. After taking the wheels off it was pretty evident that I would be doing the maximum hahahah!
Well with the wheels off as you can see the entire thing looks like a bunch of rust. The bearings are in great shape, but because I really have no idea on the history of anything else I am going to err on the side of caution and replace the cylinders, shoes, etc. The inside of the drums looks good so I am going to keep those for the time being.
While I have everything apart now is a good time to give the drums a fresh coat of paint. Im using just a plain ole high temp spray paint. With the American Racing Turbine Wheels on the car you cant see the drums anyway .Its amazing what a bit of primer and black paint can do to old beat up stuff.
Here they are with the coat of primer .
and with a wet coat of black paint.
Once I get these brakes done, and get the carb back on the car I should be able to fire it up and then move on to wiring up the body. HOPEFULLY if all goes well I have had the body back on the car in the coming weeks. I will keep my fingers crossed and you should to! 🙂
That is all I have for today.
