Bill May’s Alfa Romeo Grand Prix Roadster replicar, built on a 1968 VW chassis, was put together in 1970 as a protype for a kitcar line that never really materialized (only five were later made). This is probably the only one of the set that’s still running. New everything, and great for driving in every parade he tells me. It’s a very sharp little classic, and quite small — about 13′ long, 4′ wide (wheel to wheel), and only 30″ to the top of the windshield — and that’s with 8.5″ of ground clearance!
I think it ended up selling for a bit under $10,000. Anyone know where it is now?

Looks like it’s on eBay now:

I have a 1930 Alfa Romeo. It was built in 1964 and on a 1964 frame. It runs, and I just this year installed a completly new brake system. Mine is red. I have owened it for about 15 years at least. Where can I find more info on these kits.
I have been thinking of selling it and have no idea how to price it. I was look at under 10K also.
I just got this exact same kit. It is currently a basket case, but I’m going to be putting it together over the next few months. A random guy drove by my house and saw I had some VW stuff I was working on and asked me if I wanted to come his kit out… I mad him an offer and now its mine. I too am just looking for info on it. Any info is appreciated!
I just bought this exact same kit with chassis as a basket case project.
Hi i bought a 1931 alfa romeo kit car in bad shape, for just sitting outside for 10 years. I am restoring it now. The car has a capri v6 2.8 engine with a cam headers and four barrel carb.It now runs great and i have built a new dash and recovered the seat. I can send pics if anyone would like to see it. Mine looks just like BILL MAYS , how many were built with v6 engines?
