I met Raoul Quintana in 1987 when I was interested in buying a Quint Laser 917. I visited the shop in Pascagoula, MS and spent 2 days checking-out the fabrication and finish on the kit. We drove around in one of his Allard J2X cars and had a great time. We fell out of touch after my return to NY and a promotion that had me traveling all of the time, with no way to pursue the 917 I wanted. I do not know how many 917’s were built by Quint, but I do know that his ‘D’ models had a huge ugly front nose piece ‘bumper’ in place of the Nerf bars used by Gerry Knapp. He eventually moved to the San Diego area and the company dissolved.
