A while back I posted about this great new kit car coming out of the UK. The Widow Sports Cars SPR1 is a great looking Mazda Miata based kit car. Why more companies do not use the Miata is beyond me but these guys are on to something. Mazda has sold over a million of these cars and the aftermarket upgrade market is huge on them. Sure they are no Ferrari in terms of power, but with all the turbo upgrades, V8 swaps, and everything else out there they can be really fun. Best part about it is they can be found CHEAP!
Widow Sports Cars is working on the Targa version of the SPR1 and DAMN does this thing look good.
While the price has not been finalized yet I have had conversations with them and they tell me that they want to get the price right to appeal to the US market. They figure it will be ready for production in about 4 weeks.
The coupe version will come with the following…
Front wings and nose cone one piece.
Bonnet
2 Side Sills
2 Door skins
Rear Clam shell
Mounting panels
Rear Screen made from plexiglass
2 quarter windows made from plexiglass
And the Targa will obviously include the Targa section instead of a full roof.
What are your thoughts on this?

Pricing is expected to be around $7000 US for the kit. I am working with Wayne at Widow to try and get the price down as low as he can for the US market. I would like to see a $6500-$7000 price point with shipping included. I really like this kit and to be honest as far as miata kit cars go I feel this is the best looking on the market.
