This mystery modern kit car project was for sale on eBay about two years ago, molds included, so presumably it’s a one-off that was intended for something bigger that never made it. It’s VW-based of course, and is believed to have been originally marketed as the “Scorpion GT”, but other than that nothing is known about its history or current location — if any readers know more, please post in the comments.

The Scorpion Gt was a Kit Produced in Edmonton, Alberta. The owners were caught up in some sort of business fraud (can’t remember) but the Scorpion GT was thier legitimate attempt at business. I dod see an ad onc in he back of an old (~89) kit car magazine.
In addition in the 60’s the Kellison GT40K body was offered as The Skorpion GT ( note spelling of Scorpion is with a “K” perhaps for “Kellison”)
That version had a V8,
It gets worse when several kits use the same name for very different cars.
I think it failed due to the frankly disgusting exhaust system. Otherwise it looks alright but wow, what a bad choice for exhaust.

It has a lot of good lines on it . What would you use for a windshield? My choice would Porsche 944 rear glass without defroster . Some cool covered headlights and Pontiac Grand Am tail lights would probably tie it all together.

I spoke to the guy when he had it on ebay (i’m the guy who sent in the photos) and he had thought about doing 2 motorcycle type windshields. Kind of like bubbles or crotch rocket sheilds. I think it needs something larger and just one. Maybe more like the blaze in the other post. I still kick myself for not buying it when it was on ebay. I had no idea it would sell so cheap. The guy originally said he was looking to get 14k for the car and molds and all rights to the design. It sold for around 7k. Damn!

I would go without a windshield. Instead use one of those short (approx 6″) carbon wind deflectors,,, and a good pair of googles,, of course !!!
