A reader sent in this collection of photos of Blaze kit cars, a fun VW speedster in the same genre as the more common Riot. I like the way the black one has routed its exhaust up and over the rear deck. I do not, on the other hand, like the suicide-style Lambo doors.
I really like this car and I wish it had been more popular. I saw one in OK about 10 years ago. It had suicide doors that opened in the conventional way. Anyone know what happened to the molds and such?
Loved the care from the first time I seen one. They pop up every once in a while but are always out of my price range

I located the guy that designed this car a few years ago. I actually visited him when I went to Orlando, FL. He still had the molds, or at least most of them, I think he was short the decklid cover mold. They were sitting outside under a cover. I was considering buying them and starting over with it on a tubular chassis, but things didn’t work out. I have since lost track of him. Neat car, I liked them since their first mag preview. I sure wish I could find him again.
I have a McLela and it is still running.
I own two of these cars and love them. I drive them all the time. I started building and making these on my own chassis using a 300 HP mid-engine with a 5 or 6 speed. I changed so many things on this car that it looks so much better and better built. Anyone interested you will find it soon in the Kit Car Mag. Smiles to all others that own these cars and drive them.

Dear Sir; What is the price for a catalong, or specifications to build a Blaze-kit-car (VW powered)? Thanks, for your response in advance. Sincerely, Allen
I own the black one that’s pictured above. It’s for sale if anyone is interested!!
