Frank’s got this solid looking Invader GT that he’s currently working on at his restoration shop in Arizona. I’ll say this regularly, but someone really needs to fabricate and make molds for half-doors for the Invader. There are enough of them out there that I’m sure there’s a market for such a product, and it radically improves the looks of the car.
This car is one in a long series of VW-based vehicles Frank has owned — he’s had about thirty in all. He’s whittled down his collection, and the only other one he has left is a bug sitting on a custom frame with a 500 CI Cadillac engine stuffed into the back seat. Yes, I’ve asked him for some pictures, so hopefully you’ll get to see that here soon.
hi all,i have a ?. i know the invader uses a ghia windshield but what gasket is used? on vw’s the lip is resessed,the invader is not. any insight would be greatly appreciated. frank

thanks bats. i know of another place that makes many styles. they have great pics, so picking the right one is easier.

Cool, it will take some looking at what you have and what they offer, some of these strips are pretty hard and dont like tight cornors, the one on my laser is wrinkled in the top cornors looks ratty and leaks, I got lucky and can use the seal from the Opel GT on my car, item 101 on the Bats “to do” list.

got all the old paint off after 2 1/2 days of sanding,waaaaahoooooooo! now to fill the many,many holes, and do repairs.won’t be on the windshield for a bit.
