This Kellison Shark just hit Craigslist near Atlanta, Georgia. The running gear is complete, but there’s a ton of cosmetic work left to do. The engine is a dual port head 1814 “with a hot cam”, with all the gauges. Along with two donor cars (a ’66 and a ’74 bug), the asking price is $4,000. Gorgeous car that I suspect has far more potential than these pictures show at first glance!

Being that it’s been 8-10 years since I have seen a GRKC puttering down the street,
I belong to many kit car forums and groups and generally one in 10-20 is even a driver, I’m in that boat due to my health limitations
I for one would love to see more of these early odd and wonderful cars come to the surface and then at the very least get to some degree of finished,
Wouldnt that be cool for a new trend in car crafting to start up where building early kits was as cool today as it was in the 60-70’s
I am thinking perhaps the only finished Shark was the one on the Kellison flyers, any others out there?
What a dream that would be if these amazing cars came into vogue and people started restoring them. It could happen.
And yeah, I do think sometimes that for many of these cars the prototype was the only one ever completed!
That looks like it might use a early 60’s vintage Vette windshield? And does anyone know if the one in Michigan is still for sale?

I will keep my fingers crossed they will make a come back, while I agree with you sadly it does seem many if not every time on some of these early odd and wonderful kits only the prototype or advertising car was complete, what’s your guess on why?
More kit than car? poor fit and quality? at least a couple people would have liked these cars enough to build one,
Over in your write up for “Shark in the wild” you say it was also sold as the “Wild thing”
Then you say Kellison renamed it the Dagger as they did have their Shark car already,
In another post we have the same car sans headlight buckets and called a “Mantis”
With different people selling the same basic body one would get the impression is was popular at the time, I have never seen a Mantis and 5 or less what I will call Sharks,
I would just expect for at least one to be a running driver somewhere.
