Without a doubt, this Sebring kit car (located near Fort Myers, Florida) has seen better days, but still… it’s a Sebring. With two jobs plus school, the current owner — email him at hondahatch@hotmail.com — doesn’t have time to work on it and has put it up for sale at an asking price of only $1,700 (trades will also be considered). It’s on a VW Beetle frame (“has a little bit of rust” — it’s been sitting for a few years) with a 1600cc engine. The sun roof and passenger side glass are broken, but since those are just flat glass they’re simple to replace. Body work has been started, with some of it already sanded to the gel coat. The top is working great. It needs lots of TLC, but this could be a great project to take over for someone in the market for a Sebring.

was a pop-up headlight an option? I’d not seen a Sterling with one before.
Sadly, I’m waay to far away to consider this:(
The Sebring was an attempt to make a sort of “upgraded” Sterling, so it included stuff like this.
I just picked this car up to fix up is there any place that has parts out there for the sebring’s?
Barry,
Like almost all older kits, there just aren’t any parts available in terms of body parts, glass and interiors. The Sebring that you bought is considered the “Turbo” with the deeper cut canopy, and just about the only items that you’ll be able to find for it new are the windshield and the side windows, as they are shared with the Sterling. I’m going to say that with a caveat – the first generation cars had shared glass, I’m not entirely certain about this style car. If you can send me measurements in a PM to me, I can confirm that replacement glass will fit if you need it.
Everything else will need to be sourced or created by you. The sunroof is a PO modification; the taillights look like Mustang II lights.
Rick
I have one of these, just found out the taillights are Mercury Capri, 79-82, though I believe some mustang lights will fit.
I doubt this is a ’74, I don’t think the 2nd Gen Sebrings were available before ’82 (or maybe later)
